Grab a rimmed baking sheet, some parchment paper, and a kitchen towel. You’ll need those for roasting and removing the hazelnut skins!

How To Roast Hazelnuts Step-By-Step
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Place raw hazelnuts on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast the raw hazelnuts for 10-15 minutes.
- Steam the hazelnuts. Wrap the roasted hazelnuts in a kitchen towel for 1-2 minutes, then use the towel to massage and rub off the skins.
- Cool hazelnuts completely, then store for use.
We’re telling you, this could not be easier! If after the first go round all the skins don’t come off the hazelnuts, simply return them to the towel, wrap ’em up, and vigorously massage again until the skins are mostly rubbed off. Doesn’t have to be perfect!
