What started as a way to pass time while my kids were in school turned into — I’m not sure what else to call this — an obsession. Photography and food styling suddenly occupied my thoughts day and night. I began checking out photography books from the library and writing down recipe ideas on coffee shop napkins, receipts I found in my car, anything I could grab when inspiration struck.
But why food? Simple: food is life.
Beyond that, it really comes down to pursuing a passion. Most of my favorite moments with loved ones, as I recall, take place around a table. Sharing stories, laughing a little too loud, and talking about our next meal before we’ve cleared our plates. I want to create more of those moments, and I want them to be delicious.
I want you to come for the food, but stay for the stories. The ones where I try to put into words how the dishes nearest and dearest to my heart are more about memories than flavors.
I want this to be a place that inspires meals and menus.
Walking a new path requires an investment larger than money. If I’m going to devote my time to learning a new skill, it needs to push me, make me stronger, and give me purpose. This project — Well Seasoned — it’s already moving me forward.
Thank you for coming along on this journey. I hope you leave inspired, curious, and hungry for more.
