Elderflower & Gin Cucumber Martini Recipe

If you’re looking for your new signature summer cocktail, this elderflower and cucumber martini is it. The combination of gin and St-Germain is a total dream, and the fresh cucumber makes it feel incredibly light and revitalizing. It’s a "slight twist" that makes a huge impact—shaken until ice-cold and served in a chilled glass, it’s absolute perfection.

Equipment

Cocktail shaker with lid and strainer or fine mesh sieve

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup cucumber, cut into ⅛“ thick slices, plus more for garnish (alternatively, can use cucumber rounds for garnish)
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice, from ½ medium lime
  • 2 oz gin, such as The Botanist
  • ½ oz dry Vermouth
  • ½ oz St Germain
  • Mint or basil, optional garnishes

Instructions

  • Muddle the cucumber. Place cucumber slices in the cup of a cocktail shaker along with ½ oz fresh lime juice, then muddle to release the juices.
  • Shake or stir the martini. Fill the cocktail shaker halfway with ice, then add 2 oz gin, ½ oz dry Vermouth, and ½ oz St Germain. Shake well to aerate or stir.
  • Strain, then serve. Place the remaining cucumber slices or rounds (garnish) in a chilled martini glass (or coupe glass), then strain the drink into the cup.
