If you’re looking for a delicious snack to satisfy your sweet tooth, look no further than these Frozen Greek Yogurt Bites! When I saw my good friend, Diane Morrisey, share a recipe for yogurt bites, I knew immediately that they would become a Well Seasoned staple! With a blend of creamy Greek yogurt, decadent crunchy cookie butter, sweet blueberries, all coated in melted chocolate, these bites are a perfect treat for any time of day. We particularly love them in spring and summer as a way to cool down!
Here’s what we like to do: make a double batch (each recipe yields about a dozen yogurt bites), then store in a freezer for easy snacking! They’ll keep for up to 2 weeks and are endlessly versatile!

Ingredient Notes
- Plain Greek yogurt: we recommend full fat Greek yogurt for its super creamy texture, but you can use any variety of yogurt you like best.
- Cookie butter: A spread made from ground-up spice cookies called speculoos. It has a rich, buttery flavor with a hint of spice. Try it in our crowd-pleasing Cookie Butter Skillet Cookie next!
- Fresh blueberries: These are still easy to bite into when frozen!
- Chocolate chips: We’ll melt these then dip the frozen yogurt bites into the melted chocolate. We recommend semi-sweet, but dark or milk chocolate is fine.
- Canola oil or vegetable oil: Used to temper the chocolate, which helps to give it a smoother texture. More on this below!
You’ll need a couple of mixing bowls, a cookie scoop, and a parchment-lined baking sheet, as well.

Make The Yogurt Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt and cookie butter until well blended. We recommend warming the cookie butter up just a bit in a microwave to make it easier to pour and stir.
Once well mixed, gently fold in fresh blueberries. That’s it! The yogurt filling is done! Now simply use a standard cookie scoop to portion the filling into equal size portions. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until solid, about 2 hours.
Once frozen solid, dip in melted chocolate (we recommend tempering the chocolate, more on this below), then sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Enjoy as soon as the chocolate hardens, or store in a freezer for up to 2 weeks!

How To Temper Chocolate
Place chocolate and canola oil (or coconut oil) in a microwave safe bowl, then heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted. The oil will help stabilize the chocolate and create a smooth and shiny finish when cooled and hardened.
Why is tempering the chocolate important? This process helps to stabilizes the cocoa butter in the chocolate, preventing it from separating and resulting in a dull, grainy appearance. Tempered chocolate also has a higher melting point, making it more stable and less likely to melt in your hands.

Absolutely! Experiment with whichever nut butters you love most: peanut butter, almond butter, or cashew butter would all work.
Expert Tips
- Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest and most flavorful results.
- To make the bites more evenly sized, use a small cookie scoop to portion out the yogurt mixture.
- Make sure to use a parchment-lined baking sheet to prevent sticking.
- We prefer the texture of the Greek yogurt filling after the bites have sat out at room temp for 10-15 minutes, but they can definitely be enjoyed straight out of the freezer.
- To make gluten-free: use a gf nut butter instead of cookie butter.
- To make dairy-free: use a plant-based dairy alternative to yogurt.

Flavor Variations
- Peanut Butter & Jelly: Replace the cookie butter with peanut butter and the blueberries with your favorite jelly or jam.
- Tropical: Replace the blueberries with diced mango and add a sprinkle of shredded coconut to the chocolate coating.
- Mint Chocolate Chip: Add a few drops of peppermint extract to the yogurt mixture and mix in mini chocolate chips before freezing.
- Strawberry Shortcake: Add ½ cup of strawberries and ¼ cup of graham cracker crumbs to the yogurt mixture.
- You could also use different flavors of Greek yogurt, such as vanilla, strawberry, or even lemon.

These have 100% become a staple in our home! I can see these making a great after school snack for the kids, but honestly I love them as a mid-day pick-me-up when I want something sweet, but not too heavy. You’re going to be obsessed!

Frozen Greek Yogurt Bites with Cookie Butter
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain full fat Greek yogurt
- ½ cup crunchy cookie butter or your favorite nut butter, warmed in a microwave for 15-20 seconds so that it's pourable
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp canola oil or coconut oil
- Flaky sea salt for serving
Instructions
- Make the yogurt filling. Combine 1 cup Greek yogurt and ½ cup cookie butter in a mixing bowl, then stir to thoroughly mix until well blended. Add 1 cup fresh blueberries, then gently stir to incorporate.

- Temper the chocolate. Place 2 cups chocolate chips and 2 Tbsp canola oil (or coconut oil) in a microwave safe bowl, then heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
- Coat in chocolate, then freeze. Remove the yogurt bites from the freezer, then dip in melted chocolate. Immediately sprinkle each bite with flaky sea salt. Pop them back in the freezer for as little as 10-15 minutes or store in a freezer for up to 2 weeks!
