A little sweet, a little salty, we love these bacon wrapped chicken tenders! They’re fun for the whole family to make, and easy enough to enjoy on busy weeknights. Sprinkle with brown sugar or sesame seeds for added flavor and texture, then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
We recommend using regular cut bacon (not thick cut) so the bacon has a chance to crisp up.

Ingredients For Bacon Wrapped Chicken
- Chicken tenders
- Onion powder
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Bacon (regular cut, not thick cut)
- Brown sugar, optional
- Sesame seeds, optional
Equipment needed: rimmed baking sheet, parchment paper, nonstick cooking spray

How To Make Bacon Wrapped Chicken Tenders
- Preheat oven to 425 F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside. Pat chicken dry with a paper towel, then season on all sides with onion powder, Kosher salt and pepper.
- Wrap the chicken. Cut one piece of bacon in half lengthwise. Wrap one chicken tender in the half slice of bacon, tucking the ends underneath when possible. Place on prepared baking sheet, then repeat with remaining chicken tenders.
- Flavor the bacon. Give all the chicken tenders a quick spray with nonstick cooking oil. If desired, sprinkle bacon wrapped chicken tenders with either a teaspoon of brown sugar or ½ teaspoon of sesame seeds.
- Roast the chicken tenders. Cook for 20 minutes. Carefully move the oven rack to about 3″ from the broiler, then set the broiler to high. Cook an additional 5-10 minutes (depending on the power of your broiler) to crisp the bacon. Feel free to flip once during broiling.
- Serve immediately. Enjoy with ketchup, honey mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
We recommend the Thermapen MK4 to check for doneness on all meats!

Variations With Other Cuts Of Chicken
If you don’t have chicken tenders, you can follow the same method with chicken thighs or even chicken drumsticks! Chicken breasts are much thicker and will require a longer cook time, but would also be delicious.
Want to take the flavor to the next level? Try throwing any of these on the grill! There’s just something about meat on a grill that is totally and completely swoon worthy, you know? These spicy honey chicken tenders are calling my name!

To make a complete meal serve chicken tenders with creamy mashed potatoes and your favorite roasted veggie: broccoli, broccolini, or brussels sprouts are popular in the Well Seasoned house!
Have leftovers? These freeze beautifully! Simply allow to cool to room temperature, then store in an airtight container in your freezer for up to 3 months. To reheat, place on a rimmed baking sheet and cook in a 375 F oven until bacon crisps up again!

Notes
- If desired, you can cook chicken tenders on a wire rack to help crisp the bacon more evenly on the bottom. I’ve found this doesn’t make a huge difference so generally avoid it.
